Poetry of place

How can a poem reflect place?  How can we use poetry from Kentucky to help us understand the past, present, and future, and our place in it? This exhibit showcases student-created infographics highlighting a variety of Kentucky poets and lyricists, a collective “Where I’m From” poem inspired by George Ella Lyon that includes the voice of every current English II student, as well as a visual look at what young people envision when they use imagery and tone to create a picture of their ideal future city.

What are you reading?

There is a disconnect between program school students and their home high school and public libraries in Fayette County that can lead to reduced desire for students to read. The “What Are You Reading?” Project aims to close that gap between students and libraries. This exhibit explains the project’s purpose and displays the STEAM Academy library, which was established as a part of the “What Are You Reading?” project.
